Position: Registered Nurse - Critical Care Unit (CCU)
Location: 441 North Wabash Ave, Marion, IN 46952
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 4x12-Hour (18:00 - 07:00)
Overview: As a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit (CCU), you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to critically ill patients. You will work in a dynamic healthcare environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in the Critical Care Unit.
- Monitoring and interpreting patient vital signs and clinical data, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition promptly.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Providing patient and family education regarding the patient's condition, treatment plan, and post-discharge care.
- Collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment.
- Adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities to enhance clinical practice and professional development.
- Demonstrating empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Adhering to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice and promoting patient advocacy and autonomy.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in critical care nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and evidence-based care to critically ill patients.
