Business Analyst - Senior

Join Supply Ontario's Enterprise Technology team as a Senior Business Analyst for Corporate Applications, playing a crucial role in supporting the Senior Product Manager and shaping our organization's digital landscape. This position is central to our strategic initiatives, focusing on the Financial Management System (FMS), Human Capital Management System (HCMS), and Supply Ontario Data Analytics Platform within our corporate applications portfolio.

In this role, you will provide critical business analysis support, ensuring robust solutions aligned with business needs, scalability, and efficiency. You will work closely with the Senior Product Manager to drive process improvements, manage dependencies, and provide data-driven insights to inform product decisions. Your expertise will be vital in translating business requirements into actionable product specifications, supporting the product lifecycle, and ensuring the successful implementation and evolution of our key corporate systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Business Requirements Analysis:
    1. Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes and needs related to FMS, HCMS, and the Data Analytics Platform.
    2. Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable product specifications and user stories.
    3. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
  2. Product Support and Process Improvement:
    1. Assist the Senior Product Manager in evaluating and improving product management processes, supporting CI and agile/lean practices.
    2. Identify opportunities for process optimization and tool enhancements to improve team efficiency and scalability.
    3. Support the development and implementation of the product roadmap and strategy.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement and Dependency Management:
    1. Identify and document dependencies between product team deliverables and other organizational functions.
    2. Facilitate communication between product teams, stakeholders, and the PMO to manage dependencies effectively.
    3. Support stakeholder management activities, ensuring clear communication of product vision and requirements.
  4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    1. Collect and analyze relevant customer, financial, and product data to support decision-making.
    2. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions.
    3. Support the definition and tracking of OKRs and KPIs for product performance measurement.
  5. Release Planning and Coordination:
    1. Assist in release planning and coordination for corporate applications.
    2. Support the creation and maintenance of product backlogs, ensuring proper prioritization of features and enhancements.
    3. Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth implementation of new features and updates.
  6. Market and Technology Trend Analysis:
    1. Research and analyze market and technology trends relevant to corporate applications.
    2. Provide insights to the Senior Product Manager to inform product strategy and innovation opportunities.
    3. Support the evaluation of new tools and technologies that could benefit the product team and improve processes.

Required Skills:

  1. 7-10 years' experience in business analysis within enterprise software implementations, with demonstrated success in translating complex business requirements into actionable product specifications and user stories, particularly in financial management systems, HR systems, or data analytics platforms
  2. 5+ years' experience supporting product management processes and agile methodologies, including process optimization, backlog management, and CI/CD practices, with proven ability to identify and implement efficiency improvement.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in conducting in-depth business process analysis, producing functional specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions
  4. Experience in the end-to-end process of managing and responding to RFP(B, S)s, including analyzing requirements, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring timely submission.

Additional Terms

Performance Expectations

  • Quarterly performance reviews against agreed-upon objectives and deliverables
  • Minimum 80% achievement of approved quarterly objectives
  • Development and maintenance of detailed project documentation
  • Regular status reporting as per project management framework
  • Adherence to all Supply Ontario policies, procedures, and professional standards

Work Arrangements

  • Hybrid work arrangement with minimum 2-3 days per week on-site at Supply Ontario offices
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule based on project needs and stakeholder availability
  • Availability for occasional evening/weekend work during critical project phases

Intellectual Property and Confidentiality

  • All work products, documentation, and intellectual property created during the engagement remain the property of Supply Ontario
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality agreements and data protection protocols
  • Non-disclosure agreement required as condition of engagement
  • Return of all Supply Ontario property and materials upon contract completion

Probationary Period

  • Initial 90-day probationary period to assess fit and capabilities
  • Clear performance objectives to be established within first 30 days
  • Bi-weekly check-ins during probationary period
  • Option to terminate with 5 business days' notice during probationary period

Early Termination Provisions

  • Supply Ontario may terminate the contract with 10 business days' written notice without cause
  • Immediate termination for:
    • Breach of confidentiality or security protocols
    • Failure to meet minimum performance standards after documented warning
    • Violation of Supply Ontario policies or professional conduct standards
    • Misrepresentation of qualifications or experience
    • Extended unavailability without approved leave

Extension and Renewal Provisions

  • Contract extension is at the sole discretion of Supply Ontario
  • Extension decisions will align with Supply Ontario's internal procurement policies and procedures
  • Factors considered for extension include but are not limited to:
    • Achievement of defined deliverables and performance metrics
    • Ongoing organizational need for services
    • Budget availability and value for money
    • Contractor's demonstrated reliability and cultural fit
    • Project continuity requirements
  • Extension terms:
    • Maximum extension periods as per Supply Ontario procurement policy
    • Rate adjustments, if any, must align with approved rate cards
    • Additional or modified terms may be introduced during extension
  • Extension process:
    • Review initiated minimum 30 days before contract end date
    • Appropriate management approvals as per delegation of authority
    • Written notice of extension decision provided minimum 30 days before contract end
  • No guarantee or implicit right to extension regardless of performance
  • Supply Ontario reserves the right to:
    • Modify role requirements during extension period
    • Adjust work arrangements and conditions
    • Implement new policies or procedures
    • Require additional qualifications or certifications
  • Contractor acknowledgment:
    • No expectation of automatic renewal
    • Extension discussions do not constitute commitment
